Club Fleet:

The Castine Yacht Club's ever growing fleet of recreational and instructional watercraft is in excellent shape for the 2006 season. The Club Whalers have had an extensive and much needed winter reviving. They look wonderful!

The Club has two 13' foot Boston Whalers intended for instructional use. Having two has allowed instructors to divide groups of students for more individual attention and has provided an additional measure of safety in the event of an accident. This also has allowed members to load or unload their boats when the dock is too full for landing.

The fleet of eight Turnabouts allows the instructors to field even teams for team racing and allows more beginning students to participate in club racing.

The Elizabeth B. is in fine shape. She remains a formidible contender in the various Castine Class races held during the season.

The Fleet:
(6) Club 420s The Club's 420s allow more experienced students to gain experience needed to race competitively with other clubs, while allowing less experienced sailors easy access to 'high performance' sailboats.
(8) Turnabouts Turnabouts are used to teach the basics of sailing to begining students. They provide a safe and satisfying platform for understanding the simple methods and rules of sailing.
The Elizabeth B. The Elizabeth B. gives students the opportunity to sail a larger boat and to compete with more experienced sailors in the unique 'one design' Castine Class sailboat.
(2) 13' Boston Whalers Two powerboats give the instruction staff more flexibility in teaching while providing for the safety and transportation needs of sailing students and Club members.
