The
Castine Yacht Club's ever growing fleet of recreational and instructional
watercraft is in excellent shape for the 2009 season. The Club Whalers
have had an extensive and much needed winter reviving. They look
wonderful!
The
Club has two 13' foot Boston Whalers
intended for instructional use. Having two has allowed instructors
to divide groups of students for more individual attention and has
provided an additional measure of safety in the event of an accident.
This also has allowed members to load or unload their boats when
the dock is too full for landing.
The
fleet of
eight Turnabouts allows the instructors to field even teams for team
racing and allows more beginning students to participate in club
racing.
The
Elizabeth B.
is in fine shape. She remains a formidible contender in the various
Castine Class races held during the season.
